Council Bluffs, Lake Melakwa Note: Meeting time is at 6:30 a.m. at the Stake Center July 18.  Please have all cars loaded with gear and be seated in the chapel by 6:40 a.m.  We would like to be pulling out by 7:00 a.m. Updated 14 July 2019 Itinerary Camp map w/ parking info Added to equipment checklist: water purifier or filter Saturday's hike is 10 miles, and we pass water sources at mile 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, and 7.5, but water must be treated, so be prepared to either carry enough water for the entire trip, or treat water and re-fill along the way.  Every person does not need to carry a filter/purifier.  One per 3-4 hikers will likely work fine. The LDS Corvallis, OR Stake is sponsoring a District Merit Badge Clinic on January 12, 2019. Time: Morning session; 8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; afternoon session 12:00 – 3:30 p.m. (Vet Science will leave for the animal hospital at 11:30) Place: Corvallis LDS Stake Center (4141 NW Harrison Blvd Corvallis, OR) All participants should bring their own sack lunch. All Corvallis Stake Youth 14+ are invited to attend our 2018 Youth Conference on November 2-3, 2018 at Camp Kilowan (6510 Teal Creek Rd, Dallas, OR 97338). More details will be added here as they become available, but you can get started now by registering (see below). Online registration : All adults  and  youth should  register here ASAP! Theme : “Righteous Warriors: Enlist in the Lord’s Battalion” When : All wards will gather at their respective meetinghouses on Friday morning and drive out to Kilowan, arriving at 9:00 a.m. (PH ward, which has a ½ day of school that day, may shift their schedule). Local Area Scouters, The annual Camp Alpine Merit Badge Clinic, held at Camp Alpine in Alpine, OR, will be held on September 28-29.  We are offering classes in: Plant Science First Aid Soil Conservation Nature Archery Citizenship in World Communications Medicine Radio Emergency Preparedness Fly Fishing First Aid Insect Study Entrepreneurship In addition, adult leaders may sign up for Scout Master Training, to be taught by Kelly Brown. There is no cost for your unit to attend the clinic or camp at Alpine on Friday night.  For those that sign up for the Archery class, there will be a $8 fee for supplies.  Please bring your payment to your merit badge counselor at the camp. Note (6/10/2017):  Registration for 2017 Sons of Mosiah was due June 10, 2017, and is now closed.  If you wish to be considered for late registration (no guarantees), please have your bishop contact the Stake Young Men president. Note (5/17/2017): I have added a link below to the medical release form, which must be signed by parents of all youth participants of SOM.  Bishops (or otherwise assigned ward delegate) are responsible for collecting these forms and having them on hand during the event.
