Updated 14 July 2019
- Itinerary
- Camp map w/ parking info
- Added to equipment checklist: water purifier or filter
- Saturday's hike is 10 miles, and we pass water sources at mile 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, and 7.5, but water must be treated, so be prepared to either carry enough water for the entire trip, or treat water and re-fill along the way. Every person does not need to carry a filter/purifier. One per 3-4 hikers will likely work fine.
Updated 03 July 2019:
- Added driving directions
- Added mobile fireside links
- Added equipment checklist (includes instructions for trail map app)
- Added simplified KMZ file for maps.me app)
The 2019 Sons of Mosiah Encampment will be held at Camp Melakwa July 18-20, 2019.
The following will help you prepare for this year’s event:
- 2019 SOM Info Packet
- 2019 SOM Itinerary
- Camp map with parking info: when you arrive, you can park briefly in the dry lake bed to unload gear, but we cannot leave vehicles there long-term. After unloading you must move your vehicles to either the official parking lot or an adequate spot in the "pull-out parking area".
- Bishops, YM presidents, and all attendees (both youth and adults): come to the Sons of Mosiah Kick-Off Fireside April 14, 2019 at the Stake Center at 6:00 p.m. This year's edition of Sons of Mosiah will be a little different than years past and you will benefit from attending the fireside.
